Cangzhou Salt Industry Group – Horizontal Container Loading System for Salt
Project Overview
Cangzhou Salt Industry Group uses ZFITA’s Telescopic Container Loading Conveyor for loading dry bulk salt into standard shipping containers.
Unlike conventional container loading methods that require the container to be tilted or positioned vertically, this system enables horizontal loading while the container remains on the truck trailer. The conveyor extends directly into the container, allowing bulk salt to be transferred efficiently from the feeding point into the container.
This project demonstrates an alternative approach to containerized bulk material loading, particularly where keeping the container and truck together can simplify handling and improve loading efficiency.
The Challenge
For conventional vertical container loading, the container may need to be separated from the truck and handled by additional equipment before loading. This can add handling steps and require additional space or lifting equipment.
For Cangzhou Salt Industry Group, the requirement was to develop a more direct loading method for bulk salt while maintaining the container in its normal horizontal position.
The system needed to:
Load bulk salt directly into the container
Keep the container connected to the truck during loading
Accommodate both 20 ft and 40 ft containers
Provide adjustable conveying capacity according to the required loading rate
ZFITA Horizontal Container Loading Solution
ZFITA supplied a Telescopic Container Loading Conveyor designed specifically for horizontal loading of dry bulk materials.
The conveyor can be positioned at the container door and extended into the container during loading. As the conveyor operates, bulk salt is transferred continuously into the container without requiring the container to be rotated or lifted into a vertical position.
This allows the complete loading process to be carried out with fewer handling steps and provides a practical solution for operations where direct truckside container loading is preferred.
Flexible Capacity for Different Loading Requirements
The conveyor system can be designed according to the customer’s required loading capacity.
Different belt widths and belt speeds can be selected to achieve the required conveying rate. This allows ZFITA to configure the system according to factors such as:
Required loading capacity
Material characteristics
Container size
Available installation space
Feeding and discharge conditions
The same loading concept can be adapted for 20 ft and 40 ft containers, providing flexibility for different containerized bulk material operations.
Why Horizontal Container Loading?
The main advantage of this system is that the container does not need to be separated from the truck or tilted for loading.
Compared with vertical container loading methods, the horizontal conveyor approach can provide:
Direct Loading
Bulk material can be conveyed directly into the container while it remains on the trailer.
Fewer Handling Steps
No container tilting or additional container lifting operation is required during loading.
Flexible Container Compatibility
The telescopic conveyor can be configured for both 20 ft and 40 ft containers.
Adjustable Loading Capacity
Belt width and belt speed can be selected according to the required throughput.
Efficient Use of Space
The system provides a practical loading solution where maintaining a horizontal container position is preferred.
Suitable Materials
The telescopic container loading conveyor is primarily intended for dry bulk materials that can be conveyed by belt.
Typical applications may include:
Salt
Grain
Fertilizer
Certain mineral materials
Other dry, free-flowing bulk solids
Material characteristics should be evaluated before equipment selection to determine the appropriate conveyor configuration, belt specification and conveying capacity.
Project Result
For Cangzhou Salt Industry Group, the ZFITA Telescopic Container Loading Conveyor provides a direct and efficient method for loading bulk salt into shipping containers.
The project also demonstrates that containerized bulk material loading does not always require the container to be tilted or separated from the truck. For suitable dry bulk materials, horizontal conveyor loading can provide a simpler and more flexible alternative, with the equipment configured around the customer’s required container sizes and loading capacity.
