ZCT-DD Dual-Lane Double-Side Container Tilter Project

Project Overview

ZFITA supplied two ZCT-DD container tilters to Shandong Baojiang Agricultural Development Group Co., Ltd. for high-efficiency unloading of bulk agricultural products from shipping containers.

The ZCT-DD is a dual-lane, double-side tilting container handling system designed for operations where large volumes of agricultural products need to be unloaded within a short period during the harvest and receiving season.

The system uses two parallel truck lanes. A loaded truck enters one lane and remains stationary throughout the unloading process. The container tilter securely lifts the container from the truck, transfers it laterally to the adjacent unloading lane, and performs the unloading operation without requiring the truck to move.

After unloading, the container is returned to the horizontal position and transferred back to the truck’s original lane. The container is then placed back onto the truck, allowing the truck to leave and the next truck to enter.

The double-side configuration allows trucks to enter the tilter from either the front or rear. This means the system can handle containers regardless of which end the container doors are positioned on, providing greater flexibility for bulk material unloading operations.

The two ZCT-DD units have now been in continuous operation for four years and remain stable and reliable, demonstrating the durability of the system under repeated operating cycles.

The Challenge: High-Volume Seasonal Grain Receiving

Shandong Baojiang Agricultural Development Group faces a distinctive bulk material receiving requirement.

During the harvest season, large quantities of agricultural products arrive at the facility within a relatively short period. This creates a temporary but significant increase in truck and container unloading demand.

The customer therefore required an unloading system that could:

  • Handle a high volume of incoming containers efficiently
  • Reduce unnecessary truck movement during unloading
  • Provide flexible container positioning
  • Accommodate containers regardless of door orientation
  • Maintain reliable performance through repeated operating cycles

After evaluating available options, the customer selected ZFITA’s ZCT-DD dual-lane, double-side container tilter as the preferred solution.

ZFITA Solution

ZFITA supplied two ZCT-DD container tilters configured specifically around the customer’s high-volume unloading requirements.

The dual-lane design separates the truck positioning lane from the container unloading lane. This allows the truck to enter and stop in its designated lane while the tilter handles the container independently.

Once the container is secured, the tilter lifts it from the truck and moves it laterally to the adjacent unloading lane. The container can then be tilted for bulk material discharge.

After unloading, the tilter returns the container to the horizontal position, transfers it back to the truck lane and places it back onto the original truck.

This means that the truck does not need to move during the container lifting, transferring or unloading operation.

How the ZCT-DD Container Tilter Works

01 — Truck Enters the Tilter

The loaded truck drives into one of the two lanes of the ZCT-DD system and stops at the designated position.

The truck remains stationary during the complete container unloading cycle.

02 — Container Is Secured and Lifted

The ZCT-DD securely engages the shipping container and lifts it from the truck.

The container is then handled independently of the truck.

03 — Container Transfers to the Unloading Lane

The tilter moves the lifted container laterally from the truck lane to the adjacent unloading lane.

This two-lane configuration allows the truck to remain in its original position instead of being moved together with the container.

04 — Container Is Tilted for Unloading

Once positioned in the unloading lane, the container is tilted to discharge the bulk material.

The material flows out through the container doors into the receiving system below.

05 — Container Returns to the Truck Lane

After unloading is completed, the container is returned to the horizontal position and transferred back to the truck’s original lane.

06 — Container Is Repositioned on the Truck

The empty container is lowered back onto the truck.

The truck can then drive away, and the system is ready for the next unloading cycle.

Double-Side Tilting for Flexible Container Access

One of the defining characteristics of the ZCT-DD is its double-side tilting configuration.

The truck can enter the system from either end.

This is particularly useful for container unloading because the container doors may be positioned differently depending on how the container arrives at the facility.

With the double-side configuration, the tilter can perform the unloading operation regardless of which end of the container has the doors.

This gives the customer greater flexibility in truck entry direction and container orientation while avoiding the need to manually reposition the container before unloading.

Why Dual-Lane Design?

The dual-lane configuration is another key feature of the ZCT-DD system.

In a conventional arrangement, the truck and container may need to move together during positioning or unloading. The ZCT-DD separates these two operations.

The truck occupies one lane, while the container is transferred to the adjacent lane for unloading.

This allows the truck to remain stationary while the container is being lifted, transferred and tilted.

Reduced Truck Movement

The truck does not need to move during the container unloading process.

Independent Container Handling

The container can be lifted and transferred independently after the truck has reached its designated position.

Flexible Traffic Arrangement

Two-way truck entry provides greater flexibility for vehicle circulation around the unloading area.

Efficient Seasonal Receiving

The system is suitable for facilities that experience concentrated periods of high-volume agricultural product receiving.

Four Years of Stable Operation

Proven Long-Term Performance

The two ZCT-DD container tilters supplied to Shandong Baojiang Agricultural Development Group have now been operating for four years.

After four years of repeated unloading operations, the equipment continues to operate stably and reliably.

For a bulk material handling system, long-term operating stability is particularly important because seasonal receiving operations can create intensive equipment utilization over relatively short periods.

The continued operation of these two systems provides a practical example of ZFITA’s focus on durability, hydraulic reliability and long-term equipment performance.

Project Results

High-Efficiency Seasonal Unloading

The ZCT-DD provides an efficient unloading method for handling large volumes of agricultural products during concentrated receiving periods.

Truck Remains Stationary

The truck stays in its original lane while the container is lifted, transferred and unloaded.

Flexible Container Orientation

Double-side operation allows unloading regardless of which end of the container has the doors.

Reduced Vehicle Maneuvering

The system reduces the need for additional truck repositioning during the unloading cycle.

Dual-Lane Container Handling

The two-lane layout allows the container handling process to be separated from truck positioning.

Proven Long-Term Reliability

The equipment has remained in stable operation for four years, providing real-world evidence of long-term performance.
